A rare and historically important original racing helmet worn by Michele Alboreto during the formative years of his career, circa 1979, corresponding to his early success in Formula 3 and Lancia competition. This period marks the emergence of Alboreto as one of Italy’s most promising talents, prior to his ascent to Formula One and eventual Ferrari works drive.

Manufactured by Boeri, one of the leading Italian helmet makers of the era, the helmet is presented in Alboreto’s distinctive and elegant early-career livery: a deep navy blue base, intersected by a bold ochre-yellow horizontal band, with “boeri” branding across the crown and “ALBORETO” prominently displayed along the chin. The clean, graphic simplicity of the design is emblematic of late-1970s European racing aesthetics.

The helmet retains its original clear visor with correct period fastenings and hardware. Notably, it is fitted with a period communication tube/microphone attachment, underscoring its use in professional competition. The shell displays clear evidence of authentic race wear, including scuffs, abrasions, and surface marks consistent with track use.

The interior remains complete, showing original padding and lining, now exhibiting age-related wear and degradation typical of helmets from this era. Internal labeling and construction details are consistent with Boeri production of the late 1970s, further supporting authenticity.

Alboreto’s 1979 season was pivotal, highlighted by his European Formula 3 Championship victory, which established him on the international stage and paved the way for his rapid progression into Formula One. Helmets from this early and defining chapter of his career are exceptionally scarce.

Condition:
Overall very good, with visible and desirable signs of period use. Exterior shows scuffs, scratches, and patina throughout. Interior lining displays expected aging and material breakdown. Visor intact with light wear.

A significant and highly collectible artifact from the early career of Michele Alboreto, representing the origins of a driver who would go on to become one of Italy’s most respected figures in Formula One.

This vintage original poster has been linen mounted and is in A+ condition, measuring 19×25″. The artwork shows the previous year’s second place finisher Patrick Depailler in his Tyrrell – Ford.

The race was won by Jody Scheckter in the Ferrari 312 T4, who later took the Title that same year.

This replica helmet is a perfet copy of the Bell helmet used by legend Niki Lauda during the 1979 season while driving for Brabham Alfa Romeo. It is a beautiful replica that includes the radio.

An exceptionally rare and visually striking original racing helmet worn by Patrick Tambay during his early Formula One career with McLaren in 1979, presented in the team’s iconic Marlboro colours. Manufactured by GPA (Groupe de Protection Automobile), the helmet embodies the distinctive aesthetic of late-1970s Grand Prix racing, a period defined by raw performance and bold commercial identity.

The helmet features a clean and instantly recognizable design: a blue crown, white midsection, and lower blue band, complemented by prominent Marlboro branding across the forehead and visor strip. The dark-tinted visor remains in place, with correct period fittings and hardware, while the shell retains its original finish with visible signs of authentic race use.

Of particular note, the helmet is personally inscribed and signed by Patrick Tambay on the right side, reading in French:
“À Gilles, très sportivement et félicitations pour ta collection”, accompanied by Tambay’s signature and dated dedication. This intimate inscription adds a compelling personal dimension, linking the piece not only to the driver but also to its provenance within a collector’s context.

The rear and lower sections display TAMBAY name markings, further reinforcing its identity as a driver-specific helmet. The interior remains complete, showing period-correct construction, wear, and aging consistent with competition use. Close inspection reveals original padding, fittings, and GPA labeling, along with a visible serial marking.

Patrick Tambay, a respected figure of the era, drove for McLaren during the 1979 season before achieving further success with Ferrari in the early 1980s. Helmets from his McLaren period are notably scarce, particularly those retaining original sponsor branding and signed inscriptions.

Condition:
Overall very good, with clear and consistent signs of period use. Surface wear, minor abrasions, and aging to decals and interior lining. Interior padding shows expected deterioration commensurate with age. Signature remains bold and legible.

A highly গুরুত্বপূর্ণ and visually striking original race-worn GPA SJ helmet used by John Watson during the 1980 Formula One season, representing the closing phase of his campaign with McLaren in the iconic Marlboro era.

Finished in Watson’s unmistakable and minimalist design, the helmet features a metallic silver base with bold fluorescent orange banding wrapping around the visor and crown, complemented by black pinstriping—a clean yet instantly recognizable livery synonymous with Watson’s peak F1 years. The visor band prominently displays “Marlboro” branding alongside “JOHN WATSON” in period-correct lettering.

This example is a classic GPA SJ full-face helmet, widely used across Formula One in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The interior retains its original padding and structure, consistent with period construction.

Most notably, the helmet exhibits clear and compelling race-use patina, including:

• Surface chips and abrasions across the crown and sides

• Visor wear and age-related discoloration

• Distinct impact damage/penetration point visible on the rear/side section of the shell
