Among the earliest and most evocative pieces ever to pass through The Memorabilia Experience, this exceptional 1930s Lancia official dealership sign stands as a rare survivor from the golden age of Italian motoring — an era when Vincenzo Lancia's marque was synonymous with engineering audacity, from the revolutionary Lambda to the elegant Aprilia.

Executed in hand-painted lettering on a metal panel, the sign presents the LANCIA name in bold serif capitals against a deep oxidised ground, enclosed within a fine pinstriped border characteristic of pre-war Italian signwriting. The lettering, once brilliant white, now carries nearly a century of honest weathering — a patina impossible to replicate and coveted by collectors of original dealership artefacts.

The sign is retained in its original painted frame, with period hardboard backing, iron strapping, and original hanging brackets still present to the upper corners — details that speak to its authentic working life mounted above or within an Italian Lancia concession. The reverse remains untouched, exactly as it left service decades ago.

Genuine pre-war factory dealership signage from any Italian marque is exceptionally scarce; examples from the 1930s bearing the Lancia name almost never appear on the open market, the vast majority having been lost to war, scrappage, or redevelopment. This is an opportunity to acquire a museum-calibre centrepiece for a significant automobilia collection, garage, or showroom.

Condition: Original and unrestored throughout, presenting in honest barn-find condition with weathering, paint loss, and surface oxidation consistent with age and outdoor display. Structurally sound, complete with original frame, backing, and hanging hardware.

Extremely rare Zenith 8 days (vintage) car cockpit clock model for Mercedes Benz This clock comes from the cockpit of a Mercedes Benz classic car. Date is around 1950.
Works well and has a particular way of setting and winding.
Winding the clock by rotating. Setting the clock by pulling the clock upward until you hear a click and then setting it. If this is done, then you push it back. A similar clock will be very hard to find worldwide.

The clock is 95 mm in diameter. Swiss made. 8-day clockwork.

The Rolls Royce brand is clearly visible on two sides.

These old FIAT fiberglass signs were located on the edge of the roads, they were found only in those large inhabited centers that had a FIAT workshop.
They are very rare, as they have been destroyed over the years due to the fragility of the material with which they were built.

This lot is made up of the two faces of the sign that was installed on the light poles.
One side represents the FIAT logo, the other side indicates the place of origin with all the details of the authorized workshop. This one in particular comes from the renowned medieval town of Montepulciano in Tuscany, another Italian symbol famous all over the world in addition to the brand represented.
Note the curvature for the preparation for pole fixing.

The conditions are fair, signs of age and a small missing part on the lower corner of the FIAT front, as detailed in the photos.

KAWASAKI 'DIAMOND ENGINE' PETROL-POWERED SEARCHLIGHT Circa 1960s–1970s | Japan

A rare survivor of Kawasaki's early small-engine era — a self-contained, gasoline-driven illumination unit of charming improbability and genuine scarcity.

Long before Kawasaki became synonymous with motorcycles and heavy industry, its 'Diamond Engine' division produced compact two-stroke powerplants for agricultural and utility applications throughout the 1960s. The present lot represents one of the marque's most unusual creations: a fully portable searchlight driven not by battery or mains power, but by its own petrol engine — instant, untethered light, anywhere it was needed.

Such units found employment in an era before portable electrics were commonplace: illuminating improvised airstrips, signalling vessels along the coastline, and lighting remote worksites far from any power source. The concept — gloriously excessive by modern standards — speaks to a period of engineering when the solution to darkness was, quite simply, to bring an engine.

The unit comprises a Kawasaki KT-series single-cylinder two-stroke engine, its recoil starter housing finished in the marque's distinctive turquoise enamel and bearing the original 'Diamond Engine' roundel and Kawasaki nameplate. The engine drives a large-format lamp housed within a flared, horn-form reflector body in cream composite, crowned by a cast aluminium carrying handle. The original fuel tank, carburettor, and control fittings remain in place, and the housing retains a period dealer label from J. de Knegt N.V. of the Netherlands — a respected Dutch marine and industrial equipment supplier — suggesting continental service life consistent with coastal signalling use.

Examples of this type surface with extreme infrequency; at the time of cataloguing, no comparable unit could be located for sale anywhere on the open market.

Condition: In good working order, with all functions performing as intended. Sympathetically restored, incorporating new lens glass and a modern LED lamp unit fitted for reliable, enhanced illumination — the original engine and mechanical components retained throughout. Honest patina to the fuel tank and housing commensurate with age. Presented on a bespoke black steel display stand.

An exceptional conversation piece — equal parts industrial artefact, engineering curiosity, and sculptural object. A superb addition to any collection of vintage Japanese machinery or motoring memorabilia.

This is the oldest Rolex sign we ever had the pleasure to offer. It is in very good condition considering its age.

It was displayed on top of a Rolex official store in London in the 1960s.

The sign has been removed from the front of the store in 1972 and has remained in the family until now.
