Presented here is a rare artefact from one of the most consequential periods in the modern history of Formula One: a Sparco full-face helmet produced for the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Hotlaps track experience programme, signed boldly in black marker by Lewis Hamilton across the shell.
The helmet is finished in the unmistakable Vodafone McLaren Mercedes livery of the era: a lustrous pewter silver shell — the celebrated aluminium grey that became synonymous with the MP4/22 — adorned with the Vodafone wordmark in bold orange-red across the crown and brow, flanked by the full Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team legend along the visor band. The Vodafone roundel appears in raised, full-colour reproduction to the right flank.
