An exceptional and highly important artefact from the defining season of Nico Rosberg's career: an original Bell HP7 carbon-fibre helmet produced for the 2016 Formula One World Championship campaign, used by Rosberg for testing and promotional purposes, and hand-signed by the World Champion himself in bold black marker across the chrome mirrored visor.

The Helmet

Presented in Rosberg's iconic 2016 championship-season livery, the helmet is executed over an exposed matte carbon-fibre shell — the raw weave visible throughout — accented with the full complement of period-correct team and sponsor identity: the Mercedes three-pointed star to the crown, Monster Energy claw marks to both temples, Bose and Epson branding, the PETRONAS visor strip, and Rosberg's unmistakable turquoise "nico" script to the chin bar. Flanking each side is the dramatic chrome-mirrored "VI" — the Roman numeral six, Rosberg's race number throughout his Mercedes years — rendered in polished silver against the black carbon weave, echoed by the turquoise No. 6 to the crown.

To the chin appears the white endless-knot motif Rosberg carried throughout 2016 — a personal emblem of the season that would end with the sport's ultimate prize. The chrome mirrored visor is fitted with its original tear-off posts and aero appendages, and the rear shell bears the painter's signature mark "WiM 2016" in chrome script, above the official Bell Helmets 2016/03 production decal and the Bell Racing Europe painting credit.

The helmet is hand-signed by Nico Rosberg in black marker, prominently placed across the mirrored visor beneath the PETRONAS strip — a large, clean, and unhesitating example of his autograph, ideally positioned for display.

Provenance & Usage

This is an original helmet from the 2016 season, produced by Bell Racing Europe for Rosberg's championship campaign and employed for testing and promotional purposes. In the interest of full disclosure, it is offered as a test and promotional helmet rather than a race-worn example.

The helmet is accompanied by its original Bell Helmets padded transport bag, custom-embroidered "Nico 03/06" to both the exterior Bell patch and the interior label — a factory-personalised detail that ties the bag directly to this helmet's production.

Historical Significance

2016 stands alone in Rosberg's story. Nine victories — including a masterful lights-to-flag drive under the floodlights of Singapore — carried him to the World Championship at Abu Dhabi, settled by just five points over Lewis Hamilton in one of the most relentless title duels of the modern era. Five days later, Rosberg retired from Formula One as reigning World Champion, ensuring that helmets from this season represent the final chapter of his racing career. Original 2016 Rosberg helmets are, by definition, a closed edition: no more will ever exist.

What an incredible piece! Original race suit used by Daniel Brühl in the movie "Rush" in which he plays the role of Niki Lauda. The 2013 biographical sports film centred on the Hunt–Lauda rivalry between two Formula One drivers, the British James Hunt and the Austrian Niki Lauda during the 1976 Formula 1 motor-racing season.
